Underground Roots Sound System was created in the summer of 1999 by several like-minded people on a travellers site in Colne, Lancs.
The concept was to use any monies from playing out to build a community sound system and bring roots music to the people with enough bass bins to 'DUB THE FOUNDATIONS'.
Many thanks to all the people who have given money, labour, time and enthusiasm free of charge.
Underground Roots started the dub club at The Mill, Bradford in Sept99, and money raised was used to buy four B-Line bass speakers from Jah Youth Sound, London. In the following 2 years the sound sytem grew and played at various clubs, parties and outdoor events including:
Tony's Empress Ballroom (Blackpool)
Recently The Sound has played at Dublab at the Beehive in Bradford, Trailer Trash at The Mill, the Three Way Dub Clash with Inspiration Sound and Zion Innavision Sound, and also at Burnley Interact Skate Park. CD's of these sessions are available.
DUB TO THE FOUNDATIONS! ONE LOVE
